What is the registration procedure?

Select to register using the registration button on our website. You will need to input your details to our event booking team and complete the full payment online on our booking platform to secure your place as a rider.

What happens if the event I want to attend is fully booked?

You can try to register for another event via our website. If all events are fully booked, leave your contact details at the end of the questionnaire. You will automatically be placed on a waiting list, and we will contact you if a place becomes available.

How are participants selected?

First come, first served. We deliberately limit the size of the groups to ensure an optimal experience.

How many participants are there per event?

30 participants maximum, to promote quality, safety and a human touch.

What is the policy if I need to cancel my booking due to unforeseen circumstances?

Once a booking is made, it is strictly non-refundable. We recommend ensuring you have personal travel insurance that covers activity-based trip cancellations if necessary.

Why is this format different from previous HAR events?

HAR 2026 is a gateway to adventure, with a shorter, more accessible but equally authentic approach. A format for intermediate adventure riders who still want a challenge.

Q&A Riding & Skill Level

What is the ratio of road to off-road?

Approximately 50% road – 50% off-road (in terms of riding time). All off-road sections are easy, fast-paced and suitable for beginners.

Do I need to have off-road riding experience?

Yes a novice to intermediate level of off-road riding is required to participate in this event.

What if I can't keep up?

The aim is to have fun, not to perform. Marshalls will also be present along the route to support all riders.

Can we choose our group or ride alone?

You are free to ride at your own pace, solo or with others. The atmosphere is relaxed but friendly.

Do I need to be very experienced?

No. This format is specifically designed for intermediate riders with some off-road riding experience.

What if I have doubts?

That’s normal. Coaching and mentoring are there for that very purpose.

I’ve never ridden off-road before; is this truly suitable for a beginner?

No. This format is specifically designed for riders with some moderate off-road experience. With 50% accessible, fun trails and expert coaching from legends like Dave Thorpe, we provide the perfect environment for you to develop and enhance your learning at your own pace in complete safety.

Do I need a specific category of motorcycle licence to participate?

Yes, you must hold a valid, full Category A (unrestricted) motorcycle licence.

Q&A Motorbike & Equipment

Can I bring my own motorbike?

No. The motorbike is provided by Honda (equipped Transalp) to ensure fairness and logistics.

What riding gear (helmet, boots, armour) is mandatory for this event?

Safety is our priority. You will need a full-face helmet, a motorcycle jacket and trousers, protective gloves, and sturdy adventure or off-road boots. Upper body protection is also mandatory. We recommend Adventure style kit for the best balance of protection and comfort across both tarmac and trail. If you secure a position as a rider our clothing partner Alpinestars will have a limited selection of clothing you can purchase at a discounted rate. First come first served.

Is there a damage excess or insurance premium I should be aware of for the provided Transalp?

Comprehensive insurance for the motorcycle is included in your booking fee. A standard refundable damage excess applies 575 EUR, which is held until you return the bike after the event.

Yes. All participants benefit from included repatriation insurance, covering medical expenses abroad in case of problems.

What happens in the event of a mechanical problem?

Our mechanical team is present on the route and at the hotel. Minor issues, quick repairs or checks: we always find a solution so that you can continue the adventure.

Will I be riding alone?

You will follow an electronic Tripy roadbook, but you will always be close to other participants. The support team will discreetly keep an eye on you, and you will never be isolated.

What does a typical day look like?

Morning: riding · Midday: BBQ · Afternoon: riding · Evening: dinner and night in a charming hotel. Relaxed atmosphere, human pace.

What if it rains?

The adventure continues! The team will adapt the route if necessary to ensure safety and fun.

Can I come alone?

Of course. You’re leaving with a real gang.

What type of accommodation is provided?

Depending on the event you choose, nights are spent in carefully selected inviting hotels that combine comfort and authenticity.

How much personal luggage can I bring for the daily transport service?

To ensure efficient transport, we ask that you limit yourself to one standard-sized suitcase or kit bag (up to 20kg) per person. Our team will handle the transfer of this bag between hotels daily.

What is the recommended arrival time in Turin to ensure I don’t miss the first briefing?

Check-in opens at 14:00 on Wednesday, and the vital event briefing begins at 19:00. We recommend arriving in Turin by mid-afternoon to allow yourself time to settle in and meet the team before the journey officially starts.

Does Honda provide a shuttle service to Nice airport or the train station at the end of the event?

While the event concludes after lunch on Sunday, we will provide local transfers to Nice airport or Nice railway station. Please share your travel plans with us during registration so we can assist with the arrangements.

The goal is simple: offer you a positive, confidence-building first taste of adventure, with pro support, accessible routes and a relaxed atmosphere.

If you are a very experienced rider, used to long expeditions or extreme terrain, this edition is probably not the right format for you.
